Weekend Shift Details
Responsible for the cleanliness and floor care of general areas, as well as resident rooms. Assigned to work in areas throughout building according to cleaning frequency schedule. Flexibility in work assignment time necessary.
Strips and refinishes tile floors in general areas and resident rooms.
Spray buffs tile floor areas including rooms of residents.
Vacuums and shampoos carpet throughout facility.
Extracts carpeted areas, as assigned
Removes refuse from building and empties ashtrays
Removes and re-hangs draperies and cubicles as required.
Cleans light fixtures, fans, and sprinkler heads
Cleans ceiling tiles and ceiling strips
Washes windows and screens as assigned
Replenishes paper products for housekeeping closets and nursing units
Attends departmental meetings and in-service sessions.
Respects privacy and rights of residents; treats all residents with kindness and respect.
Performs other work duties as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor and evening Supervisor (after normal business hours).
Performs all job duties according to safety rules and practices required for this job position, and as required to ensure the general safety of staff, residents and visitors of this facility.
High School Diploma or GED
Job related experience necessary.
Interest in housekeeping skills and procedures necessary.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.
Ability to lift or move heavy objects required.
Physical stamina for constant activity required.
Approval from NYS DOH Criminal Background Check.
Subject to bending, kneeling, walking, lifting and moving heavy objects, using heavy equipment.
