    The Assistant Director, Clinical Services for Housing Community, RN, assists in providing guidance and leadership to the clinical operations for Assisted Living, Enriched Living and Housing functions.

    With the Director, the Assistant Director plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates services and activities provided by the licensed Home Care Agency. In collaboration with the Director, is responsible for the administration, quality improvement, professional, clinical and financial operations of the agency to assure a safe, effective and efficient program. Develops, communicates and implements policy and procedure consistent with corporate guidelines to assure adherence to all pertinent regulations and codes.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in strategic planning and development of business plan for the home care agency.
    • With the Director and Administrator, directs clinical practices, services and health care activities to ensure safe, effective and efficient home care and program services by professional and paraprofessional staff.
    • Assists in developing methods for coordinating an interdisciplinary approach to the residents' total regime of care. Acts as an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) with a goal of providing optimal care.
    • May provide or assist with direct nursing care or supervision, including activities of daily living, meal assistance, medication, treatment administration and leisure activities when indicated.
    • Strives to maintain or improve existing standards of practice and make process improvements.
    • Ensures program admissions are appropriate to facility requirements and meet all regulatory guidelines. Trains staff to provide efficient admission and discharge services.
    • In conjunction with the Administrator and Director of Clinical Services, monitors clinical staffing levels.      
    • In the absence of the Director, assumes responsibility for clinical activities within the facility.
    • Interprets policy and regulations for staff. Ensures understanding and compliance. Addresses non-compliance issues immediately.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum five years’ supervisory experience in acute/long term Home Care.
    • BSN degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree in related field preferred
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Current New York State nursing license and registration in good standing.
    • Ten (10) Years’ experience in senior housing, home care supervision, assisted living, long term/acute care setting or similar environment highly desirable.
    • Working knowledge of NYS-DOH and federal compliance regulations as they apply to the licensed home care agency and adult care facilities.
    • Demonstrated ability for interpretation, development and implementation of policy and procedures.
