  • Overview

    Supervises the Buckley Landing staff working from 3pm to 11pm. Ensures resident care needs are being met during the night shift. Monitors staff work and intervenes as needed to ensure facility is operating in accordance to Loretto and Department of Health requirements.

    Responsibilities

    Budget

    Oversees staffing of night shift employees - to ensure facility budgets are maintained.

     

    Compliance

    Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information regarding staffing issues, employee disciplines, resident

    information and facility operational issues.

     

    Responsible for ensuring facility runs according to all regulatory agency requirements.

     

    Documentation

    Makes documentation in the night shift nursing communication book as needed.

    Monitors staff to ensure that all required paperwork such as Service Minders, 24-hr report, safety checks,

    MAR's, etc., are being completed according to guidelines.

    Reviews and approves the 24-hr report on a daily basis.

    Reviews any incident reports generated from the night shift and submits to Nursing for follow-up.

     

    Employee Development

    Intervenes as needed with problems involving employees i.e. (staff conflicts, refusal to perform assigned

    work, refusal to work OT, etc.) Responsible for facilitating resolution to these matters.

    Monitors employee attendance and punctuality on a daily basis. Assists in scheduling coverage when

    employees call-in. Mandates staff as needed and in accoradnce to Loretto policy and union contract

    language.

    Monitors staff so that all assignments are completed for the shift.

    Orients any new night shift employees to facility policies, procedures, and regular operations. This could

    include the orientation of new hires, transfers, or agency staff.

    Responsible for holding monthly inservices to educate staff on any issues that could effect their daily job

    duties.

    Will be responsible for issuing employee discipline when needed and following all Loretto policy and

    collective bargaining agreement language during the discipline process.

    Qualifications

    - 1-2 years experience working in a supervisory role, in a health care setting preferred.

    - Experience working with individuals diagnosed with dementia preferred.

    - High School Diploma, GED, or ability to pass a TABE test required

    - Excellent customer service skills.

    - Good written and oral communication skills.

    - Proven ability to multi-task and make decisions by oneself.

    - Proven skills in dispute/conflict resolution
