  • Overview

    The Employee Health Medical Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the Employee Health department and provides excellent customer service to internal and external visitors. Assists with various aspects of the department’s administrative functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Rooms patients and obtains vital signs according to proper protocol.
    • Assists RN or NP as directed.
    • Tracks and manages annual physical exams due each month to ensure employees are in compliance with DOH requirements. Schedules appointments for employees to be seen. Sends reminder letters as needed. Follows up on missed appointments with employee and/or manager.
    • Assists with pre-employment and annual physical processing, paperwork and test results. Ensures paperwork and forms are complete.
    • Contacts medical offices or schools for immunization records.
    • Maintains employee and volunteer health records from pre-employment and annual physicals.

    Qualifications

    • Medical Assistant Certificate from accredited program or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications and able to learn new software rapidly.
