  • Overview

    The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst directs, analyzes, researches and understands critical data points to improve clinical competencies and quality assurance programs of Loretto’s skilled nursing facility. Provides guidance, support, communication and coordination of clinical programs, goals, standards and applications. Reviews all quality data to ensure accuracy and assist with the development of quality improvement plans. Generates reporting that enables in the review of data, ensuring that leaders can make clinical decisions on a timely basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides information and education in the area of MOS/Medicaid/Medicare process (rules, regulations, timing, coding, billing, care planning times, RUG Ill Matrix and reimbursement).
    • Directs the Medicaid Case Mix reimbursement collection periods.
    • Develops tools for staff education and audit processes.
    • Develops tracking and trending mechanisms that identify problem areas.
    • Develops reports for the Nursing Department monthly QA meeting.
    • Monitors the development and implementation of the 3.0 Quality Measures and Quality Indicators.
    • Assists the DON in ongoing opportunities for Quality Assurance initiatives that identify facility performance issues.
    • Analyzes MOS Quality Measures/Indicators for each MOS batch pending CMS submission.
    • Runs and organizes EQUIP and Point Right reports.

    Qualifications

    • NYS RN License in good standing.
    • Minimum (3) years of long term care experience and (1) year of health care management.
    • Self-directed with the ability to work with limited supervision.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to lead, guide and motivate others.
    • Proficient in MOS, Medicaid, Medicare, Case Mix, Quality Measures and Quality Indicators.
    • Proficient in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement concepts and practices.
    • Ability to run reports and analyze data (EQUIP, Point Right, Sentinel Events).
    • Proficient with NYS DOH Regulations.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly proficient with MS Office. Must have the ability to use Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office programs. Ability to learn new software rapidly.
