Under the supervision of the Scheduling Supervisor, coordinates scheduling of all home care aides/geriatric caregivers to care for PACE participants to ensure adequate and safe staffing within the confines of established staffing patterns and the Union contract. Responsible for accurate record keeping regarding hours worked, call-ins, absences, etc. and bringing concerns to the attention of the Scheduling Supervisor. Also coordinates scheduling of Licensed Agency nurses for evening, weekend and holidays.
Daily evaluates and adjusts staffing to ensure appropriate participant care as outlined in each individual’s care plan/orders.
Schedules staff to meet the needs of PACE participants as determined by the care plan/orders.
Provides required documentation to Scheduling Supervisor to proceed with discipline, as necessary.
Communicates accurately with aides/Contract Agencies and PACE administration to cover open shifts.
Answers phone promptly and exhibits telephone courtesy for a high volume of calls.
Covers call in’s at other PACE sites as needed.
Communicates extensively with aides, participants and their families, Scheduling Supervisor, Director of Clinical Services, Day Center Supervisors, Home Care Nursing Supervisors, and the Home Care Agency to achieve appropriate staffing.
Acts as a liaison and works cooperatively between the Home Care Agency and the PACE program regarding aide scheduling.
Prints staffing worksheets on a daily basis.
Prepares monthly schedules for aides and home care nursing staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
